The Secretary of Communications and Transportation, Luis Téllez Kuenzler, said the Federal Government and private investors will make a joint investment of , 1 Billion Dolars to execute the Manzanillo port enclosure expansion project to the northern zone of the existing Terminal.
During a working tour of the Colima port, the Secretary assured that “it will be the most important Latin American Port after the Port of Panama”. Accompanied by state and municipal officials, the Secretary added that the said joint investment will be used to execute a variety of projects in the Manzanillo Port. There are plans to expand the train routes, which will cost an estimated 2 billion Dolls. In accordance with the original project plans, the train expansion will be finished in May of 2013.
